OTC derivative reference data reporting trends in EU and UK FIRDS and FITRS in Q4 2021 with the following highlights:
- FIRDS (EU+UK) – The number of unique and new OTC ISINs reported to FIRDS in November 2021 was the highest in the last 2 years, with 72 % of all FX Forward ISINs ever created, being reported in the UK. This increase was mainly driven by MTFs.
- EU FIRDS – OTC Equity derivatives saw a dramatic increase this quarter with an upward trend since the beginning of 2021 and a peak in November ‘21.
- UK FIRDS – In addition to increase in FX mentioned above, Credit also showed an increase in Q4 with a spike in December ‘21, however absolute numbers reported for this instrument remain relatively low.
- EU FITRS – The number of FX transactions reported in 2021 peaked in December.
