Dan Kuhnel, Director, is a senior executive responsible for Primary Market Relationship Management within Euroclear’s Commercial Division.

His remit is the global responsibility for managing Primary Market/Issuer Service business matters and overall relationships with issuers, lead managers, law firms, issuing and paying agents, and various primary-market related trade associations.

Mr. Kuhnel took up this position in January 2005, having previously spent 11+ years working for Clearstream Banking Luxembourg – based in London England – where he was Senior Business Manager for New Issues and issuance products; as well as managing the New Issues operational desk.

Prior to this, Dan was stationed in Toronto Canada, working for Burns Fry Ltd, where he was in charge of their New Issues operations.

Mr. Kuhnel held the position of Chairman of the Executive Board of the Association of National Numbering Agencies (ANNA) between 2005 and 2023 and is also on the Board of ANNA Derivatives Service Bureau (DSB). Before this, between 2001 and 2004, Dan served as Chairman of the ANNA Service Bureau (ASB).

Mr. Kuhnel is an acting Director and member of the Management Committee of the International Capital Markets Services Association (ICMSA), chairing their Market Practice Committee.

He also acts as the primary delegate of Euroclear Bank with the International Capital Markets Association (ICMA) and recent took on the role as the co-chair of the ICMA Belgian Regional Committee.

Mr. Kuhnel holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and History from McMaster University in Ontario, Canada.
